Rethinking Cancer: Is it really in our genes, or in our ancestral lines?
In this post, I’m going to share my thoughts on how we can view genetics as a form of generational trauma, especially when considering holistic approaches to cancer treatment.
So far, we know cancer is caused by mutation in the DNA of cells leading to uncontrolled cell growth and division. It occurs when the body's natural processes for regulating cell growth and death malfunction, allowing damaged cells to multiply instead of being repaired or eliminated. The mutated cells form tumors which may spread to other parts of the body.
The way I interpret the paragraph above through a trauma and energetic lens is an imbalance of the energetic system (chakras) caused by trauma which leads to overactive or blocked energy centers. It happens when the body’s natural process of alchemizing energy is disrupted by trauma, causing energy centers to become imbalanced instead of maintaining a balanced flow. Neglecting one energy center can cause the others to resonate with that same imbalance.
The painful reality is that most of us know someone who has been deeply affected by cancer. From the depths of my heart, I truly believe that much of what we experience in our bodies, including illness can be healed naturally, especially when we address the energetic imbalances that may be rooted in past traumas.
Generational trauma carried through ancestral energetic lines can imprint patterns of imbalance across generations. This means that trauma experienced by our ancestors whether through oppression, war, abuse, or emotional suppression can impact our energy systems. We may not always be aware of the trauma, but it subconsciously affects us on some level. It can be heightened by certain patterns, environments or societal and economic conditions.
This is why I believe clearing ancestral lines should be seriously considered in cancer treatment, particularly for women experiencing breast or ovarian cancer.
We see that the BRCA1 and BRCA2 are closely linked to breast and ovarian cancer found in women. For generations, women's natural healing abilities and intuition were diminished or dismissed, disconnecting them from their innate wisdom and self-healing abilities. Historically, patriarchal systems have suppressed women's voices, intuition, and holistic healing practices, often forcing them to disconnect from their bodies and inner knowing. This suppression of emotion causes imbalances in the sacral and heart chakras which are both deeply tied to feminine energy.
If that energy in the chakras can be alchemized, the energy system will begin to flow naturally, restoring balance and bringing healing back into the physical body.
There are many healers deeply connected to spirit and the earth who can assist with ancestral clearing. It is a shame that services like this are not covered under most health insurance plans making it harder for people to get the help they deserve. I hope one day I can make this healing essential to everyone who decides to look within.
